7CEE conducted a field inspection of seafood resources at Chaung Thar Beach, a resort area in Myanmar, on November 14. Located approximately 7 hours by car from Yangon, it is known as one of Myanmar’s premier fisheries resource areas.
Fresh fish and shrimp
The seafood we inspected locally was remarkably fresh, both fish and shrimp, with the exceptional quality of the ingredients standing out. We truly felt this region holds a significant advantage in quality due to the short distance from landing to distribution.
Potential in the Seafood Sector
Myanmar is rich in primary industry resources, and the seafood sector in particular holds high growth potential for future exports and overseas market expansion. Through this inspection, we reaffirmed that this sector presents significant business opportunities if stable supply and quality control are established.
Future Outlook
7CEE will continue to advance field surveys and project support toward establishing a sustainable distribution and export model that leverages Myanmar’s fisheries resources.
