On September 26, 7CEE conducted a field survey in Mae Sot, Thailand, regarding vehicle exports at the request of a used car dealer based in Japan.
A trading hub where a large number of Japanese cars are lined up
Mae Sot is known as a key hub for cross-border trade, attracting large numbers of used cars exported from Japan. On the day of our survey, the venue displayed a diverse array of vehicles, allowing us to witness firsthand the vibrant energy of this international logistics center.
The heated atmosphere of the auction
What was particularly striking was the atmosphere in the venue the moment the used car auction began. The sight of numerous dealers participating simultaneously and vehicles being sold off one after another powerfully underscores Mae Sot’s role as a hub for the used car trade.
Future Outlook
